Changes in IBPS PO exam since 2015



From 2015, IBPS  has started conducting CWE / Clerk exam in two phases:

1. Preliminary


·       All the candidates who successfully register themselves under CWE PO/MT will be called for Preliminary Examinations. If a candidate passes in preliminary exam, only then can he/she appear for the main exam.The marks obtained in Preliminary exam will   NOT be considered for shortlisting for Final Merit List and Interview.

·        The Preliminary exam will be of 1 hour duration and will consists of 30 question on English, 35 question on Quantitative Aptitude and  35 question on Reasoning ability.

 Points to note:
  • The test can be taken either English or Hindi
  • Penalty for wrong Answers: There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.
  • If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.
  • The marks obtained in Preliminary exam will   NOT be considered for shortisting for Final Merit List and Interview.
  • The pattern of Preliminary exam is expected to be moderate and objective type. Any candidate who has good preparation is expected to pass the prelim exam.

 

2. Mains

·        Only the candidates who pass the Preliminary exam will be allowed to appear in the Mains Exam.

·         The Main exam will be of 2 hour duration and will consists of 50 question on Reasoning, 40 question on English, 50 question on Quantitative Aptitude, 40 question on General Awareness and  20 question on Computer Knowledge.
      
 


  • Marks obtained ONLY in the main examination will be considered for shortlisting for Interview and also for Final Merit Listing.
  • The test can be taken either English or Hindi
  • Penalty for wrong Answers: There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

  • The pattern of Mains exam is expected to same as pattern of PO exams in previous years.
